Heard of “Ronnie Scott’s” in London, or “Peggy’s Skylight” in Nottingham?
This is Southwell’s very own Blues Club, modelled on those famous venues. Expect an evening of quality music and fine food.

The Music
Quality jazz ‘n’ blues from our resident guitarist, Rhydian Wyn, with his house band “The Blue Fire” (piano- Colin Reed; bass- Fabio Pulizzi; drums- Alex Brompton). They will be joined by various opening acts and guest vocals from around the Nottinghamshire blues scene. Each evening will have its own unique line up and feel, from traditional blues through to jazz, swing and blues rock.

A later set will be more energetic, showcasing blues guitar standards such as “Born Under a Bad Sign” and “Still Got the Blues”, together with some unusual cover versions in a blues rock style, as well as a handful of original “Rhydian Wyn and the Blue Fire” compositions. Rhydian has assembled a quality group of professional musicians to form our resident band, and we are sure you won’t be disappointed.

The Food
You will have your own personal table for the evening. You will be shown from the door to your table, where you can relax as waiting staff bring your drinks and platters of quality food, prepared in the kitchens of “The Old Stage Deli”. We are serving sharing platters for your table, such as English Charcuterie and meats, Artisan cheeses, Chutney, sourdoughs, Mini bruschetta, and pastries; they will include vegetarian and vegan options as required.

The Drink
There is a full bar with table service. Simply raise your hand and the waiting staff will attend to you at your table.

Reserving your place
To reserve your table, simply apply using the form above.

PLEASE NOTE:
The Blues Club Tables seat four persons. To have a table to yourself requires the purchase of four tickets. Any ticket sales of three or less will necessitate the sharing of the table.

Tables will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
The main room, with a good view of the stage, holds 56.
The side room, with a partial view of the stage, holds 20.
The back room, with no direct view but more private tables, holds 10.

PLEASE ALSO be aware that we follow the model of “music plus food” found at Ronnie Scott’s and other successful clubs. With this in mind, regarding audience noise:

“The Stage Blues Club kindly requests that conversations be kept to a reasonable level during performances- this is out of respect for your fellow guests, the musicians, and the music. Thank You!”
